JULY 1ST – SPENCER & NANCY REED JAZZ
Nancy Reed and Spencer Reed’s unique brand of vocal and instrumental styling has been enjoyed by audiences for over 30 years.
Their forte is their vocal blend, with tight yet natural phrasing and unusual harmony. Both grew up in New York City and started their musical collaboration as teenagers in the Bronx. They were influenced by the classic performances of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Carmen McRae and Jackie and Roy. Their audience is always treated to a warm, relaxed vibe yet the music is swinging and intense. They offer an unusual selection of rarely heard tunes punctuated by unique treatments of jazz standards.
JULY 15TH –RON FARBER
Ron Farber is a recognized pop and rock music historian of five decades: 1950’s – 1990’s. Come listen to his special mixes of the music we loved from the ’50’s & ’60’s as he traces the history and evolution of pop and rock ‘n roll with intimate details and personal stories of how and why it developed. Hear how this music started and changed from it’s very roots in pop, rhythm and blues and country to become the multi-decade soundtrack of generations! Learn how the once symbiotic relationship between the record business and radio shaped a pop culture that continues to this day!
JULY 22ND – WOMANSONG TRIO & METROPOLITAN WOODWIND QUARTET
Join us for an evening of choral and woodwind music as we welcome members of WomanSONG Intergenerational Chorus and the Metropolitan Woodwind quartet to the Caldwell Public Library. WomanSONG Intergenerational Chorus was started 4 years ago by former Caldwell -West Caldwell music educator Fran DePalma-Iozzi (who lives in Caldwell). The group performs some of the most meaningful choral literature for women. This evening Rachel Capizzi, Elsa Slater and Amanda Saito will be performing. The Metropolitan Woodwind Ensemble was formed about 12 years ago by Caldwell resident Dr. Louis Iozzi. Performing with Lou are Ferris Mahadeen, Darrell Courtley, and Susan Smith. They perform an eclectic mix of music written for saxophone quartet. They rehearse in Caldwell and have performed widely.
AUGUST 19TH – GERARD & DIANE BARROS
When Gerard and Diane perform, audiences are treated to entertainment in its best and purest form. Join us as they take us on a musical journey through the 60’s and 70’s.
Diane’s rich and stylish singing is accompanied by Gerard’s harmonies, while he plays right-handed lead keyboard, left-handed bass and works the drum machine with his left foot! A portion of the show also includes acoustic guitar-accompanied duets
