Our Family Fun Nights included an evening of creating blankets for "Project Linus" - with many hours of prep work done by our trusty teen library assistant, Katie! Thanks to ALL for "Making a Difference" with your summer reading program.

How do we thank you Dr. Gerardi? For the 10 years CPL has been reading to our campers from Camp Caldwell, you have ALWAYS been there to help us. Sincere thanks!

Barry Bachenheimer, C/WC Director of Instructional Services (as well as EMT, Volunteer Fireman AND Children's Author) was one of our guest readers as Campers from Camp Caldwell join us. Thanks Mr. Bachenheimer!

July 13, 2010 ~ Thank you Officer Marinaro, for "Making a Splash" with us and reading to our campers this week!

THANK YOU to all of our friends at the Caldwell Community Center for kicking our summer reading program kickoff up innumberable notches! Come on in to "Make a Splash" and "Make a Difference" this summer, at your library!

We heard all about the real story of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere from tour guide/author Ben Edwards, as Scouts (and fans!) from the Caldwells celebrated (in a HUGE way) our final chapter in The Big Read of the poetry of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Talk about "win win" - Dr. Ben Lammers volunteered his help here as part of "Caldwell Day" AND we were able to pitch to him as a parent of two summer reading program enlistees come the end of school, when we will all "Make a Splash, Make a Difference!"

Professor Patrick Sime and Caldwell Public Library Assistant, Marsha Robbins - who also happens to be a Caldwell College alum! - working together during Caldwell Day on April 30th. Check out the greenery and flowers in the front, and back, of the Library.

Celebrate Earth Day ANY day by checking out one of the four "Kill A Watt" meters donated to us thanks to the Caldwell Environmental Commission. Library Assistant Marsha Robbins is checking out the first meter to LibraryCardHolder Mary Nolfi.

April 21, 2010 ~ Beautiful Greenwood Gardens provided a perfect backdrop to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's & Rick Mullin's poetry! Thank you again Peter, Matt & Anina - and if you're still aching for sonnets, join us tonight @ CPL for "Open Mic Night."

Talk about Community Collaborations! Henry W.L's 203d birthday/our kick off of The Big Read were both "sweetened" tremendously thanks to the bakers at Essex Vo-Tech, West Caldwell Campus! You guys are awesome!
2/27/10 ~ Our "Happy 203d Birthday, Henry" which doubled as the Kick Off for The Big Read of Longfellow was MOST EXCELLENT!

Author Brad Parks educated & entertained many last week during his visit to Caldwell. Special thanks to Caldwell College's President Blattner and Director of Media Relations, Colette Liddy, as well as MSDA's Director of Development George Hayes.

www.BradParksBooks.com ~ "check it out" if you enjoyed Tuesday so much you want to see author/journalist Parks again in NJ, CT, VA or MD. And tell your friends & relatives too!

Authors Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin inspired all as they spoke about writing, college, friendship, their new book "Nanny Returns" and lots more at MSDA. (Photo by Linda Stewart)

August 2009 ~ Claudia Dargento, Supervisor of Students and Academic Affairs at James Caldwell High School, was kind enough to share her reading aloud talents with our children this summer. We thank you Ms. Dargento!

July 22 & 23, 2009 ~ Grover Cleveland Middle School teacher, Maura Lincoln, wowed our visiting Camp Caldwell campers (and their counselors) with her stories of how we can be kind to our environment!

Wii is NOT just for kids! Join us @ 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8th, as well as well as Fridays @ 2:30 p.m. throughout the summer. Fun for ALL!

Poet Loren Kleinman, Caldwell College students Cassandra Vezeris, Kim Caputo & Professor Mary Ann Miller, at November 6th Reading @ library - where all benefitted from a successful Student Service Learning Project offered in Dr. Miller's Poetry Class

November 2008 ~ Service Learning Partnership Between Caldwell Public Library and Caldwell College (Professor Mary Ann Miller's Introduction to Poetry Class) - in action!
