Loan Periods for Caldwell Public Library & PALS Plus member Items
Adult and Juvenile Books (including new books) – 21 days
Adult and Juvenile Magazines – 21 days
Music CDs and audiobooks on CD – 21 days
Juvenile Kits, Readalongs and Puzzles – 21 days
DVDs and Blu Rays – 7 days
Reference materials – do not circulate.
Interlibrary loan material – due on the date indicated by the lending library
Patrons may request a vacation loan of items for up to 28 days
“New” books and media are “new” for the first three months in our collection
and are not holdable or loanable to other libraries.
DVDs and BluRays can only be borrowed by valid cardholders 18 years of age or older.
Patrons may borrow up to 7 DVDs and 5 audiobooks and a total of 70 items maximum at a time.
Renewals –Can be made by phone, in person, or online at the PalsPlus catalog
Books, audiobooks, magazines, juvenile kits and puzzles — 2 times if there are no holds
New books, new audiobooks, DVDs, BluRays, music CDs- 1 time if there are no holds
Patrons wishing to renew an item received via interlibrary loan should
contact the Circulation Department Staff to determine if that is possible.
The lending library makes that determination, not the Caldwell Public Library.
When the library is closed, returned books may be placed in the book drop
located behind the library near the parking lot entrance.
DVDs and compact disks should be placed in the adjoining media drop.
When the library is open, materials must be returned
to the circulation desk or children’s desk.
Books, audiobooks, music CDs, magazines, puzzles and juvenile kits
- $0.10 per day per item and $5 maximum per item: DVDs and BluRays
-$1.00 per day per item, and $10 maximum per item: DVD or compact disc left in book drop
- $1.00 per item Lost disc notes – $5.00 per set of disc notes
Replacement fees for lost or irreparably damaged materials will be based on current list price plus a $2.00 processing fee.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended (“blocked”)
if a patron has $5.00 or more in outstanding fees at any library or libraries in the PALS Plus consortium
OR if a patron has five (5) items overdue.
Privileges will be restored when outstanding charges are brought below $5.00 and overdue items are returned
