(lhotz@caldwellpl.org). When emailing, please include child’s name, grade and phone number.
Each group is limited to 15. We will contact you to confirm that there is room for your child.
Sneak Preview: In March our Awesome Artists will draw Superhero Self Portraits and our
Amazing Artists will create wire animal sculptures inspired by Alexander Calder’s circus!
Story Time Programs
We in the Children’s Room at the Caldwell Public Library love books and we love kids, but most of all we love kids with books. We look forward to sharing our love of books with you and your child.
We offer 4 different story time programs, each for a particular age group. Some are for the child and their caregiver while others are only for children. All are designed to help get your child ready to read. We do not teach reading here, here we teach the love of reading.
In an effort to make the library a warm and inviting place we do have some simple guidelines that will make story time more enjoyable for all.
- Please put away all puzzles and books when story time begins.
- Please turn off or mute cell phones during story time.
- Please enjoy story time with your child, they enjoy story time so much more when you are actively involved.
- Please socialize with friends, young and older, before and after story time.
- HAVE FUN, they really do grow up fast!
WEE TIME
Wee Time is designed for the 6 to 24 month old and their caregiver. The hour program is a combination of quiet listening and active play, with plenty of time for both young and “old” to socialize. Our time together ends with playtime. Wee Time is a drop in program with no registration required. Programs will be held on the following Fridays at 9:45 AM:

TODDLER TIME
Toddler Time is a weekly 30 minute program designed to keep your 2 to 3 1/2 year old child happy and involved with picture books, fingerplays, action rhymes and songs. Caregivers are asked to stay and join the fun. Registration required. Please either stop by to register, or give us a call at 973.226.1636.
Toddler Time will be held on the following Mondays & Thursdays at 9:45 AM:
Mondays: April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3, 10
Thursdays: April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 30, June 6, 13
PRE SCHOOL STORY TIME
Pre School Story Time is a weekly 45 minute program designed to help your child get ready to read. Using stories, songs, games and crafts, this program will help your 3 1/2 to 5 year old develop a love for books and reading. Caregivers may join us at the end of story time. Please either stop by to register or give us a call at 973.226.1636.
Pre School Story time will be held on Tuesdays. There will be two sessions, 9:45 AM and 1:15 PM.
