We are working on starting our Reading Buddies Program again this spring. Reading Buddies is a program that pairs children to read with a teen volunteer. There will be a teen volunteer interest meeting on March 20th at 4:30pm. Miss Kris would like to get a sense of how many children might be interested in participating in the program before this meeting. Next Meeting:  Thursday April 4th at 4pm:  We'll be reading  Who Were the Brothers Grimm? at the meeting

Meets 1st Thursday of the Month at 4pm:  October 4, November 1, December 6, January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2

Children in the club do not need to read the book in advance. We'll read part of (or all of) the book together at the club.  Members who enjoy the book will be able to borrow a copy to take home after the club ends.  We'll also have activities related to the book and reading during the program as well. Snacks provided. Please inform Miss Kris of any allergies.  Children who attend the club meetings help to choose the book for the next meeting.

NEW:  Read to Me Book Club:  Grades K and 1st

Next Meeting:  Thursday April 18th at 4:30pm: We'll be reading:  It's Shoe Time by Bryan Collier

Read to Me is a new book club for kids in kindergarten and 1st grade starting this Spring. We will read a short early reader or picture book together during the club so there is no need to read the book in advance. Program lasts about 25 minutes.  REGISTER HERE



CHESS CLUB:  Tuesdays February 26th-April 9th at 4:30pm (no meeting on March 12th)

Children and tweens age 7-13 are invited to join the Caldwell Public Library's new Chess Club. All levels welcome.  Have fun and learn a new skill!

Makers Day 2019: Saturday March 23rd - Events happening all day between 11:00am-3:00pm featuring a 3D demonstration by Minuteman Miniatures and tons of hands on activities!

Dog Tales:  Read to a Dog Program:  Thursday March 28, April 25, May 23 from 4:30pm-5:30pm:  Children learning to read practice reading to a therapy dog.  Call to register for a time slot. Registration required. Registration for each program will open the 1st of the corresponding month.

Author Visit!  Daniel Kirk:  Saturday April 6th at 11:00am:  Meet Daniel Kirk, the author and illustrator of over 40 books including the Library Mouse series, when he visits the Caldwell Public Library! After School Yoga!:  Tuesday April 23, May 7, May 21, and June 4 at 4:30pm.  Kids ages 8-12 can stop by the library for a free yoga class!Wear comfortable clothes and bring your own mat.

Turtle Dance Music:  Wednesday May 15th at 4:00pm! Turtle Dance Music presents a high-energy show to engage children of all ages with songs, comedy, bubbles, music technology and is also crafted for children on the Autism Spectrum. Each song is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time. Parents, and caregivers are also welcome to join the fun. This family program is best for ages 2+

Mondays at 9:30 a.m (No Wee Time on 3/4 or 3/11)

For children newborn to age 2 with caregiver. Share books, rhymes, songs and play with your child. Drop-ins welcome.

This hands-on sensory themed program invites little ones to use various props like shaker eggs, scarves, and bells. Program lasts about 20-25 minutes. Best for ages 6 months - 2 years old.

Thursdays at 11:30 a.m
Kids ages 2-5 move, dance, and stretch during our weekly movement and music program!

Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
For children age 6 months to 5. An informal weekly get-together children and their caregivers.
