  SIGN UP FOR THE 2019 SUMMER READING PROGRAM

 

SUMMER PROGRAMS

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS

  • Wednesdays 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (July 10 - August 7)
  • Ages 12+
  • CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP
  • Join us for a series of D&D one-off campaigns this summer - we'll battle Orcs, fight Dragons, discover new lands, and maybe make some friends along the way. Program will offer opportunities for members to create their own stories and maybe help DM a session. Pizza or other food will be ordered during the program.

  • Ages 13+

  • Come by the library to watch a movie with other Middle School and High School students. We'll have snacks and air conditioning! The movie is TBD. It will be one based on a book. We will post the title after our first Teen Action Committee Meeting on 6/28. Try to read the book before the program if you can but it's not a must to attend.

TEEN LOCK-IN

  • Friday August 16, 5:30 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
  • Ages 12+
  • ADVANCE SIGN-UPS REQUIRED
  • Teens rule the library at this after hours program. Event will feature various activities, games, movies, prizes, and food. (Activities to be planned over the summer by the Teen Action Committee.) Advanced signup required. August 16th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, ages 12+.

Attend a Meeting: 

  • Friday June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9 and August 23 at 1:30pm
  • Friday August 16 at 4:00pm (Prep for our Teen Lock-In)

Get Involved in TAC!

  1. Fill Out a Volunteer Form
  2. Meet Age Requirements: Teen Action Committee Members must be at least 12 years old (7th grade)
  3. Email the Youth Services Librarian, Kris, re your interest: kchurchill@caldwellpl.org
  4. Join the TAC Remind Group (Under 13: parents must join, Over 13: teens join themselves)

  5. Add Your Name to the TAC Meeting/Event Sign Up Sheet HERE
  6. Then...be an Active Member:  Attend meetings and help out at Library programs and events, especially those planned by TAC!

Become a Reading Buddy!

Become a Reading Buddy! Reading Buddies is a program that pairs a teen volunteer with a child who is learning to read.

How to become a Reading Buddy:

  • Fill out our volunteer form  HERE
  • Complete the Reading Buddies  Sign Up Form HERE
  • Attend a training session
    • Next training sessions: Friday June 28th at 2pm
    • Future training sessions will be scheduled as needed.
  • Get paired with a little buddy
