The Caldwell Public Library Reading Buddy program pairs a child with a teen volunteer.
It's a great way to inspire a new reader and/or encourage a child's love of books and libraries! It's best for kids in grades K-4.
The number of available spaces is dependent on how many volunteers we have in the program. There may be a waiting period befreo getting paired.
Thank you for your interest in the Caldwell Public Library's Reading Buddy Program. You may get started on your application at any time.
Reading Buddy volunteers must be in grades 7-12, at least 12 years old, and live or go to school in Caldwell, West Caldwell, North Caldwell or Essex Fells.
The application process includes:

Filling out and submitting the general volunteer application

Filling out and submitting the Reading Buddy volunteer application

Attending a Reading Buddy orientation meeting

Submitting a Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, school advisor, or media specialist
