Join the Caldwell Public Library:
Caldwell Residents

A Caldwell Library card is free to all Caldwell residents, ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present when registering for a card.

To get a library card please bring proof of residency and photo ID to the library. A driver’s license is the most common form of ID used. If you do not have a driver’s license the following are acceptable forms of ID:

-School ID, work ID, state ID or passport

AND

-Official piece of mail with Caldwell address on it, such as a rental agreement, bank statement, utility statement or pay stub.

 

Essex Fells & North Caldwell Residents

Residents of towns that do not have a library may purchase a membership at the Caldwell Public Library.

$100/year Membership:

  • Check out any item from the Caldwell Library

  • Request fulfillment through JerseyCat

  • Access to downloadable materials through OverDrive, Kanopy, rb digital magazines, hoopla, NewsBank/Digital Star Ledger, and Brainfuse HelpNow.

  • 50% reimbursement for Essex Fells and North Caldwell residents

$250/year Membership:

  • Check out any item from the Caldwell Library

  • Request fulfillment through JerseyCat

  • Access to downloadable materials through OverDrive, Kanopy, rb digital magazines, hoopla, NewsBank/Digital Star Ledger, and Brainfuse HelpNow. and hoopla

  • ReBL walk-in services to Essex County libraries

  • Partial reimbursement for Essex Fells and North Caldwell residents.

A $3 credit card processing fee will be added to the $100 membership; the processing fee is waived if $250 membership is selected.

Payment by cash or check remains an option.

 

Courtesy Cards

Caldwell business owners and their employees may receive a courtesy card with proof of employment. Enjoy the same privileges as the $100 level membership for free.
