Click Here to Register for the 2021 Summer Reading Program

Registration begins June 19th, 2021

Program Runs:  July 5th - August 14th

The 2021 Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the

Caldwell Public Library Foundation.

Three Programs based on suggested age ranges and reading abilities. Register for the one that fits your child's best interest.  Participants earn incentives for meeting reading goals and

also completing bingo game boards.

Our programs are screen-free this year!  We are not using any online tracking tool.  We felt that after a year of online learning, kids could use a break this summer from having to do something on the computer.

Wee Read:  Ages 0-5

This is a program is intended for parents/caregivers of young children. Children in this program are typically read books like board books, picture books, and early readers. Some may be starting to explore reading with help.  Children who are older than the suggested age range may also participate in this option if their parent/guardian feels it is the better fit. Children and parents in this program keep track of how many books they read to earn fun prizes.  They may also play a bingo board game for added engagement and activity suggestions.

Children and Tween Programs:  Ages 0-12

This program is aimed at children who are emerging independent readers up to confident readers. They read chapter books through middle grade novels. Children who read early readers and/or early chapter books may choose to enter this program or our Wee Read program.  Children in this program complete bingo boards and/or a summer reading log in order to earn prize incentives.

Teen Program:  Ages 13+

This program is for our teenage patrons.  We know teens can be extremely busy but we still hope they can participate. Books read in this program are typically much longer, either YA or Adult books. Every book read = 1 scratch off ticket for the chance to win a prize!  Their summer reading for school can also count for our program at the Library.  Teens who are 13, or any who feel the other is better suited for them, may opt to sign up for the Children & Tween program if they prefer.
