This is a simple craft that incorporates shapes, fine motor skills, spelling and writing. Plus, yay trains.

What You’ll Need and What To Do:

  • Paper, scissors, glue or tape, markers or crayons

  • Cut out the same number of squares as letters in your child’s name plus one

  • Cut out circles for the train’s wheels

  • Cut out a triangle for the front of the train

  • Have your child glue the squares in a straight (as possible) row down on a piece of paper (we had to tape a couple pieces of paper together to make it long enough).

  • Add the circles for the wheels

  • Add the triangle to the front

  • Write one letter of your child’s name in each train car

  • If you have cotton balls you can add some for smoke
